Bombers Dump First Place Royals, 2-1, In Reading

Reading, PA – The Dayton Bombers beat the Reading Royals, 2-1, in front of 4,482 at The Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania Thursday night. Bombers forward Brent Ozarowski recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in the winning effort.

The Bombers opened the scoring when JUSTIN KINNUNEN buried a long rebound past Royals goaltender Cody Rudkowsky at 2:58 of the first period. Dayton led, 1-0, after 20 minutes.

The tight checking affair continued in the second period when BRENT OZAROWSKY beat Rudkowsky high, glove side to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead at 17:42 of the second period.

The only goal in the third period was scored by Jeff Miles, on the powerplay, at 2:53 but the Bombers held on for the 2-1 win. Mike Ayers picked up the victory for the Bombers who were outshot 27-23.

The Dayton Bombers return to action tomorrow (Friday) night when they travel to the Toledo Sports Arena to face the arch-rival Toledo Storm. Audio coverage begins at 7:30 PM at daytonbombers.com.
