March 3, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

The ECHL announced on Wednesday that Elmira Jackals right winger Tyler Donati has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for February. The award is Donati's first career monthly honor.

In February, Donati led the ECHL with 12 goals and 24 points and was second in the league at +11. Four of Donati's 12 goals were game-winning tallies. He secured his first professional hat trick in a 7-2 win against Johnstown on Feb. 21 and was named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 8-14.

The month saw the Jackals go 9-2-0-0, moving from second place to the top spot in the American East Division. They ended February with a nine-point lead over the second-place Reading Royals.

Donati tops the ECHL with 87 points and 56 assists and is six points shy of tying Randy Murphy's single-season Jackals scoring record of 93 points, set in 2002-2003. His current 16-game scoring streak is the longest in the ECHL this season.

The Oakville, Ontario native is the first Jackals winner of the ECHL Player of the Week award since Bobby Robins received it for Mar. 10-16 in 2008. Brett Pilkington and Bryan Rodney also garnered the honor in the Jackals inaugural ECHL season. Donati's twin brother, Justin Donati, has received the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month award twice this season.

Donati and the Jackals host the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday and the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday, with both games starting at 7:35 p.m. For tickets, call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto Ticketmaster.com.
