Elmira's Tyler Donati Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Player Of The Month For February

PRINCETON, N.J. - Tyler Donati of the Elmira Jackals is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for February.

He was also named the ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 8-14.

The 23 year old scored 24 points (12g-12a), including four game-winning goals, and garnered a plus-minus rating of +11 in 11 games to help Elmira go 9-2-0 and take over the top spot in the East Division.

Donati started the month off with a nine-game goal-scoring streak that commenced with a three-point effort (1g-2a) in a 5-1 win against Wheeling on Feb. 5. He scored the game-winning goal and had four points (1g-3a) in a 4-3 win at Wheeling on Feb. 12 and three points (1g-2a) with a power-play goal during a 5-3 victory over Wheeling on Feb. 13.

He is currently on a 16-game point streak (14g-23a) that started with a three-point effort (2g-1a) and a 7-2 win at Toledo on Jan. 22. Donati notched his first professional hat trick and added an assist in a 7-2 win against Johnstown on Feb. 21 and recorded two-or-more points in 7 games during February.

The right winger leads the ECHL in points (87) and assists (56) and is second with 31 power-play points. Donati sits second among the Jackals with 31 goals and a plus-minus rating of +21.

In three seasons with the Jackals, Donati has 110 points (37g-73a) in 70 regular season games while also playing in the American Hockey League where he has 19 points (6g-13a) in 57 regular season games with Binghamton and Philadelphia.

The Oakville, Ontario native spent four years in the Ontario Hockey League and had 300 points (131g-169a) in 252 regular season games and 39 points (10g-19a) in 36 playoff games for Oshawa, Toronto and Belleville from 2003-07.
