Cincinnati's Motherwell Named AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer For February

PRINCETON, N.J. - Cincinnati defenseman Brett Motherwell is the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for February after leading the league with a plus-minus rating of +14.

Motherwell was even or better in all 13 games in February and was a +4 with two points (1g-1a) in a 6-3 win against South Carolina on Feb. 4. He also earned a +2 after recording a career-high three assists in a 3-2 win against Wheeling on Feb. 24.

The 23 year old ranks second on the Cyclones and tied for fifth among ECHL defensemen with a plus-minus rating of +16. Motherwell ranks first among Cincinnati defensemen with 26 points (2g-24a).

He split the 2008-09 season between Graz EC in Austria where he amassed nine points (3g-6a) and 20 penalty minutes in 23 games and Providence of the American Hockey League where he appeared in four games

The St. Charles, Ill. native played two games with the Elmira Jackals in 2007-08 while also seeing action with Syracuse of the AHL where he registered 16 points (2g-14a) and 59 penalty minutes in 48 regular-season games and tallied two assists and six penalty minutes in 13 playoff games.
