Connecticut Whale News Release
HARTFORD, November 5, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned center Bruce Graham from the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL to the Wolf Pack and that the Pack have recalled center Mike Ouellette from the Checkers. In addition, the Wolf Pack have loaned center Mark Lee and left wing Jordan Owens to Charlotte.
Graham, a third-year pro and a second-round pick by the Rangers in the 2004 NHL Draft (51st overall), was leading the Charlotte club in goals and was second on the team in points, with 4-2-6 in six games. Last year, the 6-6, 230-pound Moncton, New Brunswick native skated in seven AHL contests with the Wolf Pack and registered one assist. In 65 games with the Checkers, Graham posted totals of 33-23-56, with 83 penalty minutes. That topped the Charlotte team in goals and was good for third on the squad in points.
Ouellette had posted three goals and two assists for five points this season in six ECHL games with Charlotte. That tied the second-year man out of Dartmouth College for second on the Checkers' club in goals and was good for a tie for third on the squad in points. A 6-0, 199-pounder who hails from Kamloops, B.C., Ouellette suited up for 69 games for Charlotte last season and put up numbers of 17-30-47 with 27 penalty minutes. Ouellette's plus/minus of +15 led the Checker team, and he finished third on the club in assists and tied for fourth in points.
Lee had played in five of the Wolf Pack's 11 games this year, and had posted one assist and two penalty minutes. Owens, in six games of action, had one goal and two assists for three points, along with two penalty minutes.
