Bulldogs Host Americans And Wolves At Copps Coliseum This Week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will host two Western Conference opponents this week at Copps Coliseum, beginning on Friday, November 9th at 7:30 p.m. against the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres / Florida Panthers). The Bulldogs will then take on the Chicago Wolves (AHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers) on Saturday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m. to round out their weekly schedule.

Last week, the Bulldogs posted a record of 0-1-0-1 in two games against two North Division rivals. On Friday, November 2nd, the Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 decision in a shootout to the Syracuse Crunch at Copps Coliseum, before being shutout 3-0 at Blue Cross Arena by the Rochester Americans on Saturday, November 3rd.

REMEMBRANCE DAY GAME: The Hamilton Bulldogs will host their annual Remembrance Day game this week on Saturday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m. when they face-off against the Chicago Wolves at Copps Coliseum. In addition to the traditional pre-game moment of silence, the Bulldogs players will wear poppy stickers on their helmets, there will be a pre-game ceremony to honour past and present Canadian soldiers and the Bulldogs Foundation will make a donation to the Hamilton War Veteran's Poppy Fund.

BULLDOGS NOTES:

- On Friday night (November 2nd) against the Crunch, C Maxim Lapierre scored two goals in 10 seconds to set a franchise record for the fastest two goals by one player, surpassing Michel Riesen who scored two goals in 35 seconds on February 21st, 2001 at Hershey. Lapierre is now tied for fifth overall in the AHL with six goals

- D Joel Bouchard, who earned an assist on both of Lapierre's goals against Syracuse, recorded his first two points as a Bulldog

- D Marvin Degon compiled a total of ten shots on goal this past week, bringing his season total to 42 which ranks first among all AHL defencemen and fourth overall in the league

- The 'Dogs currently have the second best penalty-kill in the entire AHL at 91.0%, trailing only the Milwaukee Admirals who have a 91.4% rating

- Dallas C Mike Ribeiro accumulated three points last week with a goal in a 4-2 loss to San Jose (Oct. 29) and a goal and an assist in a 4-2 loss to Chicago (Oct. 31)

- Montreal LW Chris Higgins collected three points this past week, tallying one goal in each of the team's games; a 3-2 loss to Atlanta (Oct. 30), a 5-2 victory over Philadelphia (Nov. 1) and a 3-2 loss to Toronto (Nov. 3)

- Columbus LW Jason Chimera posted three points last week with two goals in a 4-1 win over Los Angeles (Oct.31) and a goal in a 3-0 victory over St. Louis (Nov.4)

- Edmonton G Mathieu Garon made 30 saves on 32 shots in a 3-2 win over Anaheim (Oct. 28)
