Admirals Look To Jump-Start Offense Against Bears

NORFOLK, VA - After scoring only one goal in two games this weekend, the Admirals look to jump-start their offense when their East Division rivals, the Hershey Bears, visit Scope this week. Last Saturday night in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Norfolk netminder Jonathan Boutin made 38 saves but the Admirals fell to the Penguins 2-1 in a shootout. Yesterday in Bridgeport, Sound Tigers goaltender Mike Morrison made 22 saves to shut out Norfolk 3-0.

The Admirals host the Bears at Scope on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:15 p.m . Wednesday night is both College Night and Singles Night while Friday is Military Appreciation Night. Also, the Admirals' wives and girlfriends will be collecting Thanksgiving food items for the Admirals Thanksgiving Basket Drive for the "ForKids" organization both nights near Gates 3 and 4. ADMIRALS' LOG

- Jonathan Boutin leads the AHL with a .950 save percentage and ranks second in the league with a 1.76 goals-against average. Boutin has allowed only one goal in three of his four outings this season.

- Boutin made 38 saves on 39 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday night to earn second star honors.

- Center Ryan Craig has been assigned to Norfolk by Tampa Bay on a two-game conditioning stint. He will play with the Admirals on Wednesday and Friday against Hershey and will then return to the Lightning on Saturday night in Washington as Tampa Bay faces off against the Capitals.

- Center Justin Taylor has accepted an offer to play in Russia and has been released from his Professional Tryout Contract with Norfolk.

- This week marks the first time since December 10-11, 2005, that the Admirals have not had a game on a Saturday and Sunday (not counting the season opener weekends). The Admirals do not have another Saturday off until March 8.

- The Admirals penalty kill is 20-22 (90.9%) in its last four games.

- Norfolk has gone 107:19 since Bryce Lampman scored Norfolk's last goal at 17:41 of the first period on Saturday night in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

- Bryce Lampman netted his first goal as an Admiral on Saturday night in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

- The Admirals have scored first in seven of 11 games this season.

- Six of Norfolk's 11 games this season have been one-goal games.

ADMIRALS THANKSGIVING BASKET DRIVE TO BENEFIT Forkids

The Admirals wives and girlfriends will be collecting Thanksgiving food items this Wednesday and Friday at Scope for the "Admirals Thanksgiving Basket Drive." The food drive will benefit the local ForKids organization that assists local homeless children and their families. The Admirals hope to collect enough food to feed 20 families this Thanksgiving and need your help to reach that goal. Look for the Admirals wives and girlfriends near Gates 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday Night at Scope when the Admirals take on the Hershey Bears. UPCOMING PROMOTIONS

Wednesday, November 7 (Hershey Bears)

- College Night - The Admirals will set aside 100 discounted white level tickets for students with a valid college ID on each mid-week home game during the 2007-08 regular season. These tickets, which normally sell for $12, will be available for $8 for college students. These tickets will also get college students a 20% discount on their food at Baxter's Sports Lounge before and after the game that day. Baxter's Admirals College Night tickets will only be available for purchase at the Scope Box Office. Students of any age with College Night tickets will be permitted into Baxter's prior to game time. After the game, only students over age 21 with College Night ticket stubs will be permitted unless a parent or guardian accompanies them.

- Singles Night - The Norfolk Admirals will be hosting several of Hampton Roads Magazine's Sensational Singles, among other singles from the area, in a night of exciting Admirals hockey. Reduced ticket price, pre-game meet and greet along with a post game VIP party at Baxters will make for a great night at Scope.
