Binghamton Senators News Release
LAST WEEK: The B-Sens (6-3-1-0, 13 pts.) were 2-0 this past weekend, extending their winning streak to four games.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd vs. BRIDGEPORT (5-2 W): The B-Sens handled the Sound Tigers on Friday night as rookie Tyler Donati buried his first two professional markers and netminder Jeff Glass stopped 35 of 37 shots. The Senators got points from eleven different players. Donati buried the game-winner at 15:21 of the second period. Defenseman Greg Amadio assisted on the goal, his first helper in a Senators' uniform. Winger Greg Mauldin extended the lead to two goals with his third marker of the year. Denis Hamel capped the scoring with his team-leading sixth tally of the year, an empty-netter to give the B-Sens the 5-2 victory.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd vs. SYRACUSE (4-3 W): Binghamton rallied from a 3-1 deficit to score three unanswered goals on its way to a 4-3 victory of the Crunch on Saturday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Josh Hennessy and Niko Dimitrakos each collected three points (1+2=3), while defenseman Matt Carkner added two points (1+1=2) including the game-winning goal in just his second back from injury. Following a Crunch goal at 4:06 of the final period, the B-Sens started their comeback march. Hennessy worked his way through the Crunch defense and beat netminder Tomas Popperle to cut the lead to two goals. Dimitrakos and Lawrence Nycholat assisted. Four minutes later Dimitrakos and Hennessy teamed again, this time it was Hennessy feeding Dimitrakos for the game-tying marker. Carkner struck for the game-winner at 13:37, blasting a one-timer over the glove hand of Popperle.
