Hogs Open Home Portion Of Schedule By Nabbing Three Points

Nearly one month into the 2007-08 regular season, the Rockford IceHogs finally got to play in front of their home fans. The IceHogs took three of a possible four points over the weekend in front of a combined 11,931 fans at the Rockford MetroCentre. Rockford's Week 6 slate has three contests scheduled, including a pair of home games on Friday and Sunday.

Friday, Nov. 2: San Antonio Rampage 3 vs. Rockford IceHogs 2 SO

Saturday, Nov. 3: Manitoba Moose 1 vs. Rockford IceHogs 2

Bacon Bits:

Rookie winger Evan Brophey, who had three points during Week 5, leads the IceHogs with nine points and eight assists.

The IceHogs drew 11,931 fans during its first two home games over the weekend including the first ever sell out in club history Friday night.

The two-game attendance total marks the highest ever in Rockford's nine-year history to start the season.

Center Martin St. Pierre recorded his 250th career point on 11/7/07 against Manitoba.

Rockford re-called three skaters from Pensacola over the 10 days: including Adam Hobson, Steve Marr and J.C. Sawyer.

Winger Troy Brouwer has a team season-high three-game goal scoring streak.

Brouwer leads Rockford with five goals on the campaign.

After playing its first two home games of the regular season after a nine-game road swing, the IceHogs will play four of its next six away from home.

Rockford snapped a three-game winless streak on Saturday against Manitoba.

The IceHogs have out shot its opponents just three times in its first 11 games.

Over its past six games, the IceHogs have allowed just four power-play goals on 41 chances, a 90.2% penalty kill rate.

Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien, re-called by Chicago Saturday, scored a goal in his first shift with the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night in St. Louis.

Hot Hog Week 5:

Rookie winger Evan Brophey notched three points in Rockford's two games during Week 5. The IceHogs only scored four goals in its two games and Brophey figured in on three of them. Overall, Brophey leads the IceHogs with nine points and eight assists.

Upcoming Games:

Friday, Nov. 9 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs and Griffins meet up for the second time this season and first at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up a transistor radio sponsored by Maverick Media. Fans can use the transistor radio to tune into IceHogs games inside the MetroCentre.

Saturday, Nov. 10 at Peoria Rivermen. The game is slated for 7 p.m. A interstate rivalry commences when the IceHogs travel to central Illinois to take on the Rivermen in a West Division match-up. The contest is the first of eight on the season between the two clubs.

Sunday, Nov. 11 vs. San Antonio Rampage. The showdown starts at 5:05 p.m. Rockford returns to the MetroCentre to battle the Rampage for a third time this season and second in Rockford. Sunday marks the first poster giveaway night the season with the IceHogs as the first 1,000 fans will take home IceHogs Poster #1 in a series of seven courtesy of Pepsi, Medicine Man and Johnson Press.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs flagship radio station Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV! Every IceHogs home game during the 2007-08 season can be viewed on Insight Cable Channel-57. When the IceHogs are on the road fans can watch them live at Damon's Grill in Rockford. Fans can take advantage of great Bud Light specials and food specials at Damon's Grill.

Hog Talk Returns Tonight At Cousin's Bar and Grill:

Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin's Bar and Grill! Cousin's Bar and Grill is the site for the IceHogs weekly talk show that features Hogs Head Coach Mike Haviland. Also appearing on the show this week is Hogs defenesman Jordan Hendry. The show runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and is hosted by Jim Stone and Double T. Bud Light Hog Talk returns to the airwaves as well, as fans can tune in live to 1330-AM, WNTA to catch the show. Come out to Cousin's Bar and Grill to talk Hogs hockey and enjoy some great Bud Light and food specials!
