Tribe Doomed by 4 Double Plays & 10th-Inning Single

July 25, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Brennan Boesch silenced a sellout crowd of 15,042, singling home two runs in the 10th inning to give the Louisville Bats a 4-2 victory over the Indianapolis Indians Saturday at Victory Field.

Louisville opened the 10th with a single and hit batter to put two runners aboard, but first baseman John Bowker made an impressive play on the lead runner at home and a force out at second base to leave the Bats with runners on the corners and two outs.

Irving Falu was then hit by a pitch to load the bases and Boesch split the first and second baseman with the go-ahead single into right field.

Louisville closer Carlos Contreras walked three and induced the Indians' fourth double play as part of a scoreless 10th and his third save.

Willy Garcia and Bowker had two hits apiece and each scored a run. Gorkys Hernandez reached base thee times and drove in one run.
