Buffalo Bisons News Release

Dalton Pompey went 5-6 and added two RBI in Bisons' victory

It's been two years since Dalton Pompey has had a game like this. For the first time since April 2013, Pompey had five hits for the Herd, defeating Pawtucket 6-0 on Saturday night at McCoy Stadium.

Bisons' starter, Randy Wolf, had a spectacular start for the Herd on Saturday, pitching six scoreless innings and earned his seventh win of the season.

Following an RBI single to right field from Josh Thole to put the Herd on the board first, Dalton Pompey had his first hit. Pompey hit an RBI double to left field, scoring Thole and Ty Kelly to give the Bisons an early 3-0 lead. Munenori Kawasaki scored on a fielding error at third to add a run at the end of the second inning.

Dalton Pompey hit a triple to center field to start the offense back up in the eighth inning, after hitting two singles earlier in the game. Jon Berti and Matt Hague both hit RBI, adding two insurance runs to give the Bisons a 6-0 lead. Pompey would add a single in the ninth to give him his five hit game for Buffalo.

Randy Wolf continues to show that he can still pitch quality starts. The southpaw earned his seventh win of the season, pitching six shutout innings and only allowing five hits from the Paw Sox in his start.

Jeff Francis will look for his fifth win of the season on Sunday as the Herd wraps up their series vs. Pawtucket at 1:05.
