Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the second game of a three-game series at McCoy Stadium (6:05 p.m.). The Bisons struck first in the series with last night's 2-1 win. The Herd has now won three straight and six of seven dating back to July 18. Buffalo is now 2.5 games back of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the IL North division.

vs. the Red Sox

The Bisons are 5-2 against the Red Sox this year, including a 3-1 record at McCoy Stadium. Buffalo has allowed just 15 runs in those seven games and only six in the last six contests. PawSox hitters are averaging just .191 with one home run in 194 at-bats against Buffalo pitching.

Randy Wolf

LHP RANDY WOLF is coming off his best start of 2015. The southpaw struck out nine and allowed just five hits in defeating Syracuse on Monday, 7-0. Wolf's 2.72 ERA on the season is the 4th lowest in the International League while his .857 winning pct. (6-1) leads all IL hurlers. Wolf tops all Bisons' pitchers with 106.0 innings of work.

MattVP

INF MATT HAGUE collected his 41st multi-hit game of the season last night and 13th in 21 contests this July. Hague has averaged .324 or better in all four months of the season including a .390 mark in July. His .350 average on the season is 19 points better than any other IL hitter and his 129 hits are 21 more than the next closest player.

Dalton Pompey

OF DALTON POMPEY brings a nine-game hit streak into action tonight. He has averaged .382 (13-34) with eight runs scored in a streak that started June 5 for one game and then continued since his return to the Herd from New Hampshire (AA) on July 17. Only INF Matt Hague (14 games) has a double-digit hit streak for the Herd this year.

Bisons Bits

RHP AARON SANCHEZ was activated off his MLB injury rehab assignment with the Bisons today. He was 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA in three outings (5.0 IP, 4 SO). The Bisons' team ERA is back under 3.00 at 2.98, just 3 points behind Norfolk for the league's best staff. Bisons hitters are 2nd in the IL in fewest strikeouts (624) and tied for the 3rd most walks (350) in the league...With their 60th errorless game in the field, the Bisons are now tied for 1st in the IL with a .985 fielding pct.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (49-49) lost in Seattle last night, 5-2. Jose Bautista hit his 21st home run of the season and fourth in the last six games. Toronto remains tied for 2nd in the AL East, 5.5 games behind the Yankees. The Blue Jays take on the Mariners again today at 4:10 p.m. Eastern.
