Trevor Martin Makes 34 Saves; Rebels Win 2-1 in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Rebels got a 34-save performance from Trevor Martin on their way to a 2-1 win over the Cougars Saturday in Prince George.

The Rebels took a 1-0 lead on a first period goal from Luke Philp. Philp now has a five-game point streak. It was 1-0 for Red Deer after one period.

The Cougars scored late in the second period, Tate Olson had a power play goal and it was 1-1 after 40 minutes.

The Rebels got the game winner in the third period on a goal from Ivan Nikolishin. The Cougars pressed in the third period, out shooting the Rebels 16-5, but Trevor Martin made many big saves.

Trevor Martin finished with 34 saves; Nick McBride made 25 saves in the Cougars goal.

Red Deer was 0 for 1 on the power play; the Cougars were 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

The Rebels are back at home on Friday when they host the Portland Winterhawks.
