
Toledo Takes Game One in Indy

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo Mud Hens began their final road series of the season on Monday, taking on the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field with a 4-1 final in favor of Toledo.
The Hens scored first in the contest. In the top of the second inning, Pete Kozma drew a walk, setting up a two-run home run by Chad Sedio, his second in three games and giving Toledo a 2-0 lead.
On the mound, Austin Adams received the start for Toledo, going two hitless innings while striking out one and walking two before Tyler Alexander entered in the third inning.
In the top of the fourth, Danny Woodrow began the inning with an infield single. Advancing to second on a fielding error and then third on a Daz Cameron single, Woodrow would eventually score on a groundout by Jeimer Candelario to increase the Toledo lead to 3-0.
The Indians didn't log their first hit until the bottom of the sixth with no outs when Cole Tucker knocked a triple to the left-center wall. Tucker would score on a groundball later in the inning to cut the Mud Hens' lead to 3-1.
Toledo was back at the plate in the seventh with Candelario leading off with a double to the right field corner, welcoming Indianapolis reliever Blake Cederlind. After advancing on a groundball, Candelario scored on a knock by Frank Schwindel to increase the Mud Hens' lead to 4-1.
For Toledo, Alexander went five innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks while striking out five before Eduardo Jimenez entered to pitch in the bottom of the eighth. In the eighth, Jimenez gave up just one hit en route to recording three outs. Caleb Thielbar came on for Toledo in the ninth, recording three outs for the save.
What's Next:
The Mud Hens and Indians will play through Thursday in the four game series before Toledo returns to Fifth Third Field on Friday. Tuesday's game will begin at 7:05 p.m.
