Today's Game

Tonight the Bisons continue with their final regular season homestand, welcoming the Rochester Red Wings for game one of a four-game series. Following Thursday's finale, the Herd will hit the road for the final road trip of the 2019 season. Buffalo will take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for a four-game series that concludes on Labor Day. The Herd is still trying to run down Scranton in the IL North divisional race.

Last Game: BUF 5 PAW 4 F/11

The Herd salvaged the final game of the series against Pawtucket with their fifth walk-off win of the year. UTIL Patrick Kivlehan ignited the offense with his 28th home run of the season, while INF Santiago Espinal collected his first Tiriple-A round tripper in the bottom of the second inning. OF Roemon Fields drove in C Michael De La Cruz for the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th. On the mound, RHP Nate Pearson went 6.0 IP in his Sahlen Field debut.

Rochester Red Wings (6-6)

Buffalo and Rochester are meeting for the final time this season, after splitting a four-game series last week in the Flower City. This is the Red Wings' second trip to Downtown Buffalo this season, after trading wins on July 29 and 30.

Today's Starter

LHP Thomas Pannone takes the hill for his sixth start with the Herd this season. Pannone was optioned to Buffalo on August 20th by the Blue Jays. The southpaw has made 30 appearances, including six starts, for Toronto this season as well, going 3-5 for the Herd's parent club. Pannone was named the International League's Pitcher of the Week for June 24-30.

Roemon Fields

OF Roemon Fields delivered in the 11th inning yesterday to help the Bisons defeat Pawtucket with his 19th RBI of the season. The speedy outfielder collected his 15th multi-hit performance by going 2-5 at the plate, adding in his 16th steal as well. Fields now has 86 steals in his Bisons career, keeping him in 2nd place in the team's Modern Era (1985-now) behind Dave Roberts (97).

Patrick Kivlehan

Patrick Kivlehan's home run in the bottom of the 1st inning has brought his season total to 28 in his time between the Herd and Indianapolis. The veteran utilityman is now tied for 4th in the IL in homers, three behind Columbus' Bobby Bradley.

IL Standings

The Bisons still sit in third in the IL North standings after last night's loss but are now three games back of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre heading into play tonight. The Syracuse Mets are 0.5 back of the RailRiders with a doubleheader on tap against Lehigh Valley.

Blue Jays

Toronto (53-80) dropped the series finale in Seattle yesterday 3-1 to conclude their road trip. The Blue Jays are off today before beginning a two-game series against the Atlanta Braves at Rogers Centre on Tuesday.
