TONIGHT'S GAME: The Louisville Bats welcome the Columbus Clippers to town for a four-game series, the final matchup between the clubs this season. The Bats won the first game of the homestand yesterday, defeating the Indianapolis Indians by a 3-2 score. Tonight, right-hander Tyler Mahle makes his third start for the Bats this season and his first since being activated off the Major League injured list and optioned to Louisville.

AGAINST COLUMBUS: Louisville Slugger Field hosts the Clip Show for the first time since June 28-30, when the Bats took 2 of 3. The clubs met just last week at Huntington Park, with Columbus sweeping the Bats in 4 games. LOU heads into play this series with an 8-12 record against Columbus this season, needing a four-game sweep to avoid a below-.500 record against them to finish 2019.

BATS TIE 2010 RECORD: On Sunday, Mitch Nay's go-ahead and eventual game-winning home run in the sixth inning was Louisville's 160th homer as a team this season. No. 160 ties a Reds affiliation (since 2000) record set by the 2010 Bats. The 2019 Bats are 6 homers away from tying the all-time franchise (since 1982) record set by the 1999 RiverBats.

Season (Aff.) Home Runs Lg. Rank

1. 1999 (MIL) 166 5th

T2. 2010 (CIN) 160 1st

T2. 2019 (CIN) 160 8th

COMEBACK WIN: Louisville snapped its 7-game losing streak last night with a come-from-behind victory over Indianapolis, trailing 2-0 after one inning before ultimately winning 3-2. Right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez tossed his team-leading 10th quality start of the season, pitching well after allowing a Jake Elmore two-run homer in the opening frame. The Bats earned their 24th comeback win this season, one away from matching the 25 comeback wins they had in 2018.

ROB'D: Outfielder Rob Refsnyder was released from his contract on Sunday. In 85 apps with Louisville this season, the 28-year-old batted .315 (94-for-298) with 42 runs, 21 doubles, 2 triples, 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 31 walks. He made his Bats debut on April 11 after the Reds acquired him in an April 7 trade from the Diamondbacks in exchange for a PTBNL.

- LHP Tim Collins was placed on the 7-day injured list yesterday (retro 8/23) with a right hamstring strain. In 5 games with Louisville this season, he's 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA (3er/4.0ip) with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.

ON THE PITCH: Louisville's bullpen has not allowed a run over its last 12.0 innings, spanning parts of 3 games. Since July 1, the Bats' pitching staff as a whole owns the third-lowest ERA (4.11) in the International League.

ONE-RUN GAMES: Sunday marked the 45th time this season that Louisville's played in a game decided by one run, improving to 16-29 in one-run games. Each of Louisville's last 3 wins have come in one-run fashion, last winning a non one-run game on August 13 vs. Lehigh Valley (7-3).

THROWBACK TO 2010: Last time the Bats hit 160 home runs as a team (2010), they were led by Wladimir Balentien (25 HR), Juan Francisco (18), Zack Cozart (17), Todd Frazier (17) and others. The 2010 team finished 79-64 and lost in the IL playoff semifinals to the Durham Bulls, marking the most recent postseason trip for Louisville.
