Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ â The Titans came into the week of play in seventh place in Northern Division and hoping to close the distance between themselves and the Reading Royals for the fifth and final playoff spot.
The Titans, however, did not get off to the start they wanted as they came into Boardwalk Hall on Friday night to take on Atlantic City. The Boardwalk Bullies took advantage of special team play as Luke Curtin netted a power play goal and captain Stephan Rivard tallied a shorthanded goal to hand a 3-1 loss to the Titans.
Trenton hoped to regroup against the Royals at the Sovereign Center, where Reading holds a 12-1-2 record. The Royals would make it number thirteen with a 4-1 drubbing of the Titans. Captain Brad Church scored the game-winner and added an assist as the Royals widened the gap between themselves and the Titans to eleven points.
The Titans find themselves now in eighth place in the division as they begin a five-game home stand. The Titans start it up at Sovereign Bank Arena on Friday, January 23 at 7:30pm versus the Wheeling Nailers. The Titans will then host the Roanoke Express on Saturday, January 24 at 7:00pm.
