Friday, January 16
Cincinnati 1 @ Wheeling 4
The Nailers won their sixth consecutive home game by beating the Cyclones 4-1. Cincinnati took a 1-0 lead on a Terry Marchant goal at 12:52 from Dean Stork and Jade Galbraith. The Nailers tied the game 1-1 at 1:02 of the second period. Eddie Pershin scored the goal from Bogdan Rudenko and T.J. Reynolds. Alex Rouleau gave the Nailers a 2-1 lead at 8:30 of the third period, it was his first goal of the season. J.C. Ruid had the only assist on the Rouleau goal. Jason Jaffray scored his first of two goals at 13:06 from J.F. Dufour and Ruid. Jaffray added another goal at 15:05 from Ruid and Jake Ortmeyer to close the scoring. Nick Boucher made 26 saves on 27 shots for the win.
Saturday, January 17
Cincinnati 4 @ Wheeling 5
The Nailers beat the Cyclones for the second consecutive night to improve their record against Cincinnati to 3-2-0 on the season. Just like the night before, the Cyclones took a 1-0 first period lead on a Terry Marchant goal. Marchant scored at 2:13 and Richard Naumann made it 2-0 Cincinnati at 6:55. The Nailers got to within one on a Steve Crampton goal at 9:40. The power play goal was assisted by J.F. Dufour and Jason Jaffray. Bogdan Rudenko tied the game 2-2 at 13:52 from Eddie Pershin and Jaffray. Cincinnati reclaimed the lead on a Tom Rouleau power play goal at 10:31 of the second period. Steve Crampton scored his second goal of the game at 12:48 to tie the game 3-3. Ben Blais and T.J. Reynolds assisted on the goal. Jaffray gave the Nailers their first lead of the game at 16:27 from Dufour and J.C. Ruid. Brendon Hodge extended the Nailers lead to 5-3 at 12:36 of the final period with Rudenko and Pershin assisting. Naumann scored his second goal of the game for the Cyclones at 12:42 to close the scoring. Nick Boucher made 13 saves on 17 shots for the win.
Sunday, January 18
Atlantic City 0 @ Wheeling 1
The Nailers and the Boardwalk Bullies entered the game with the two best winning percentages in the ECHL. The Nailers took the ice 11-1-1 in their last 13 games and on a three game-winning streak. The Bullies were 12-0-1 in their last 13 games and winners of six straight. The teams skated to a scoreless tie through two period of play with the Nailers out shooting the Bullies 24-17 in the first two periods. The only goal of the game was scored by J.F. Dufour at 19:35 of the third period with Drew Fata and Brendon Hodge assisting. Tyler MacKay made 26 saves for his fourth win of the season and first shutout.
Nailers Player of the Week:
The Nailers Player of the Week is Jason Jaffray. Jaffray had 5 points on three goals and two assists in three games last week. He had two goals on Friday night and one goal and two assists on Saturday. He also played at a +2 for the week.
Nailers Goaltender of the Week:
The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Tyler MacKay. MacKay went 1-0-0 in his only game last week. It was his fourth win of the season and his first shutout. He made 26 saves for the win.
Player notes:
Jason Jaffray will be the lone Nailers representative at the ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday night from Peoria...Jaffray is tied for the league lead in scoring with 54 points on 23 goals and 31 assists...Jaffray's 23 goals is fourth best in the ECHL...J.F. Dufour is seventh in the league in scoring with 47 points on 17 goals and 30 assists...Nick Boucher is tied for sixth with a 2.34 goals against average and leads the league with four shutouts.
Team notes:
The Nailers go into the ECHL All-Star Game leading the league in wins with 28, points with 58 and winning percentage at .725...The 28 wins the Nailers have at the all-star break equals the amount of wins the team had all of last season...The Nailers are 20-1-0 when scoring the first goal...The Nailers are 11-0-0 when leading after the first period, 19-0-1 when leading after the second period...In one goal games this season, the Nailers are 12-0-2.

The Peoria Rivermen host the annual ECHL All-Star Game with Jason Jaffray the lone representative for the Wheeling Nailers. The radio broadcast can be heard on 95.7 WEEL FM with the television broadcast being shown live at TJ's Sports Garden & Restaurant.
Friday, January 23
Wheeling @ Trenton 7:30p.m.
The Nailers are 3-1-0 against the Titans this season, 1-0-0 in Trenton. The two teams will face each other one more time after this game.
Saturday, January 24
Wheeling @ Toledo 7:30p.m.
The Nailers are 5-1-1 against the Storm this season, 2-1-0 in Toledo. The Nailers and the Storm will play one more time after this game.
