A third-period power play goal by the Las Vegas Wranglers carried them to a 3-2 win on Saturday over the Condors in front of 6,574 fans â the second-largest crowd of the season at Centennial Garden. Paul Willett scored on the power play early in the third to tie the game at 2-2, but the Wranglers came through. Bakersfield is 0-4-1 against Las Vegas on the season. Kevin Riehl also scored for Bakersfield, who outshot the Wranglers 37-30 in the game.
Where We're At
The Condors are 11-19-6 on the season, exactly halfway through the year. They sit in 5th place in the Pacific Division, 19 points behind fourth-place Alaska and two points ahead of 6th place Long Beach and Fresno (with a game in hand on each). Of the 36 games remaining, the Condors will host 16 and be on the road for 20 of them.
This week
The Condors travel to Fresno on Friday night for a 7:00pm start at the Save Mart Center. The first hockey game ever played in the Falcons new home building was between the two teams, with the Condors winning in overtime.
Saturday, the Condors head down to San Diego for the first of two matches from the San Diego Sports Arena. Friday's game starts at 7:05pm and Sunday's match begins at 5:00pm. The Condors are 1-3-1 against the Gulls, with four of the five games being decided by just one goal.
All games, home and away, can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to faceoff. The Voice of the Condors, Kevin Bartl handles the play-by-play.
The Condors will return home on Tuesday, December 27th against the Fresno Falcons at 7:00pm. That night is WB-12, KISS 96.5 and Golden Empire Transit Student ID Night. Also on that night, the Condors host their annual Project Warm Families Coat Drive, sponsored by KGET-TV 17. Anyone bringing a new or gently used coat to donate to the United Way will receive a complimentary terrace level ticket.
Individual seats are on sale now, and may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.

· C Kevin Riehl recorded a point in both games this weekend to bring his scoring streak to eight games â a team high this season.
· The 162 combined penalty minutes recorded on Friday were a season high for the Condors, as was their own 88-minute total. The ECHL high this season was a match between the Louisiana Ice Gators and Texas Wildcatters just this past Saturday, when the two teams combined for 235 penalty minutes.
· The Condors drew 6,574 fans on Saturday for their second-largest crowd of the season.
· Johan Astrom has 10 points and is a +8 in the last 10 games.
· G Shane Bendera has started seven consecutive games for Bakersfield. No other goalie has started more than four in a row for the Condors this season.
· The Condors are averaging 28.5 penalty minutes per game on home ice this year, compared to 21.9 minutes per game on the road. The two biggest combined PIM totals this season for the Condors have both come on home ice against the Alaska Aces. They combined for 110 minutes on November 8th.
· Bakersfield is 4-12-4 in their last 20 games, but nine of those 16 non-wins have been by just one goal. When they've won, they've won big. In those four victories, they've outscored their opponents by 17 goals, and the two highest scoring games of the year for the Condors have come during the stretch.
Quote of the Week
"Sure, we played hard, but it's like sitting on a wet toilet seat." â Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly, referring to suffering a league-high eighth one-goal regulation loss on Saturday night, a 3-2 decision against Las Vegas.
