LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps beat the Bandits, 6-3. Gabriel Arias headlined the offense with a pair of 2-out, 2-run singles. On the mound, Mason Thompson, Travis Radke, and Jared Carkuff retired 18 consecutive batters from the third through eighth innings.

ROSTER MOVES: The Padres have reinstated left-hander MacKenzie Gore from Fort Wayne's Disabled List and placed lefty Osvaldo Hernandez on the 7-Day DL. Gore, who's been sidelined since April 11 with a blister on his left middle finger, is starting today. See the next page for more information.

TRENDING UP: The TinCaps have won 7 of their last 11, including a 3-game sweep of Beloit last week. Fort Wayne is 14-11 since beginning the year 0-6. The 'Caps are 4-1-1 over their last 6 series.

IT'S ALL RELATIVE: TinCaps starter MacKenzie Gore is cousins with right-handed pitcher Tanner Duncan, who has pitched in 5 games out of the bullpen for Quad Cities this year. However, Duncan is not currently on the team's roster and is back in Extended Spring Training.

HAWKEYE HOMECOMING: TinCaps hitting coach Jonathan Mathews is from Centerville, Iowa, which is about 3 hours southwest of here. Mathews coached at Indian Hills Community College in Ottuma, Iowa, where he also taught economics from 2000-12. Previously, Mathews earned a master's in athletic administration in 2000 at the University of Iowa, where he was a part-time coach from 1995-96.

BACK TO WHERE IT ENDED: The TinCaps were last at Modern Woodmen Park for Game 3 of the 2017 Midwest League Championship Series on Sept. 16. Fort Wayne lost, 12-2, as Quad Cities completed a 3-game sweep.

WHO'S BACK: From last year's roster in the MWL Championship Series, the TinCaps have back manager Anthony Contreras, pitching coach Burt Hooton, fielding coach Jhonny Carvajal, and 4 players (LHP Osvaldo Hernandez, INF Justin Lopez, INF Gabriel Arias, and OF Jack Suwinski).

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 1st runs in scored (26), 2nd in OBP (.474), tied for 3rd in walks (25), and tied for 10th in stolen bases (8)... Esteury Ruiz is tied for 2nd in triples (3), tied for 10th in total bases (49), and tied for 8th in home runs (4)... Carlos Belen is tied for 6th in RBIs (21) and also tied for 8th in homers (4)... Nick Margevicius is tied for the MWL in strikeouts with 44.

ADVANCED STATS LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 5th in Line Drive % (32%), 7th in BB% (21%), and 9th in BB/K (1.25).

STREAKING: Juan Fernandez is on a 19-game on-base streak. That's tied for the 6th longest streak in the league so far this year. He's reached base in every game he's started... Jeisson Rosario is on a 17-game on-base streak that began on April 15.
