
LumberKings announce 2018 concert series

Clinton, IA - Back by popular demand the Clinton LumberKings are happy to announce the 2018 "Stay Late Saturday" concert series with two additional, nongame day, concerts. Ten bands will be coming to Clinton this summer to play Ashford University Field, including the preeminent Tom Petty tribute band Free Fallin on Friday, June 15.
The music begins on Saturday, June 2nd with 80's Night presented by 1st Gateway Credit Union. Come see the LumberKings take on the Peoria Chiefs and stay after the game for a postgame concert by AC/DC cover band Rolling Thunder.
On Saturday, June 9th the Clinton LumberKings host the Kane County Cougars. Following the game, Stone Cold Moonshine will take the stage for a postgame concert that will be sure move your feet. Come listen to this local rock band as the good times roll on at Ashford University Field.
The first bonus concert of the year welcomes in Tom Petty tribute band Free Fallin on Friday, June 15th. While the LumberKings are on the road, Free Fallin will play some of Rock-N-Roll's most well-known classics from the musical genius that was Tom Petty. Gates open at 5:00 PM with Kluseman and Steil taking the stage as the opening act. Advanced tickets to this special event concert will be $15 for general admission with limited infield access available for $25. At the door, on the day of the concert, general admission tickets will be $20. Beer and concessions items sold throughout the ballpark.
Clinton's own, Todd Striley and the Noize return to Ashford University Field on June 23rd for the third installment of the Stay Late Saturday concert series. Playing a wide range of music from Blues to Rock and Roll the noise from this local band will be sure to get you out on the dance floor.
The second bonus concert of the year opens the month of July when Bowman, Pickney and Evans performs at Ashford University Field on Tuesday, July 3rd. Start your Fourth of July celebrations early with some live music following a car show of new and classic four-bangers in the parking lot at the ballpark. Tickets to this event are $5 with proceeds going to benefit the Fourth of July Festival. During the concert, beer and snacks will be sold at the concessions stands throughout the ballpark.
Who's ready for some Blues? The Avey-Grows Band make their Ashford University Field debut on Saturday, July 14 to play some of the best Blues you will hear on either side of the Mississippi River. The LumberKings will host the Lansing Lugnuts starting at 6:30 PM with The Avey-Grouws Band to take the stage following the conclusion of the game.
The Stay Late Saturday Concert Series closes out the month of July with a rock and roll country show by Southern Ride. Following the conclusion of the LumberKings and Chiefs game, its time to head to the dance floor as Southern Ride takes to the stage.
Saturday, August 4th the Clinton LumberKings open a six-game home stand with the sixth installment of the Stay Late Saturday concert series. The Slough Buoys return to Ashford University Field to play a postgame concert.
The Stay Late Saturday concert series comes to an end on Saturday, August 25th with a postgame concert by Lexi Parr. The Galena-based artist brings her powerful vocals to the stage at Ashford University Field as the LumberKings open their final home stand of the season.
Tickets to games on Stay Late Saturdays are good for postgame concerts.
