Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves Tuesday:

Right-handed pitcher Tayron Guerrero has been placed on the disabled list.

The 6'7" reliever from Colombia has a 7.36 ERA in four appearances for the TinCaps. In 3.2 innings, Guerrero has allowed eight hits, and eight runs (three earned), while hitting one batter, walking eight and striking out four. On Sunday against Lake County, the 22-year old Guerrero walked five batters, including four in a row, in one-plus inning of work.

Meanwhile, right-handed pitcher John Hussey has been added to Fort Wayne's roster from extended spring training.

Hussey, 26, pitched in San Diego's organization from 2005 through 2010 before returning to his native Australia to pursue a career in sports science, according to news.com.au. Hussey's last MiLB experience came with the TinCaps in 2010. That year Hussey went 4-3 in 12 starts, tossing 56.2 innings with a 6.35 ERA. Hussey also pitched in the Summit City for the Wizards in 2007, when he was 0-5 in six starts with a 7.50 ERA.

Hussey joins TinCaps outfielder Corey Adamson as the second Australian-born player on the roster. Hussey's hometown of Mornington, Victoria however, is more than 2,100 miles to the east of Adamson's in Bullsbrook, Western Australia.
