Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers hopped on the bus and hit highway #3 for game two of the three game weekend series between the Tigers and Hurricanes. Beckett Langkow got the nod for the Orange and Black, while Bryan Thomson got the start for the 'Canes.

The Tigers would put their special teams on display again early as Nick McCarry tipped home the loose puck only 1:17 into the first period. Zack Stringer tied it up 6 minutes later after the Tigers got themselves in a little bit of penalty trouble. Cole Clayton notched his 6th of the season on a laser shot from the point to put the Tabbies up back up by 1. Justin Hall kept the party going on his 21st birthday as he ties the game at 2 only 39 seconds later. All four goals in the first period came on the powerplay.

The second period began with the same back and forth tempo as the last four periods until Brett Kemp set up Corson Hopwo for his 6th of the campaign. For Kemp, that's career point 200. Lukas Svejkovsky would put the Tigers back up by 2 as gets his 6th of season with the shorthanded marker. That would chase 'Canes netminder Bryan Thomson from the game as Carl Tetachuk comes in relief. Yorkton SK, native Brett Kemp wouldn't take long to solve Tetachuk as he put the Tigers up by 3 with just under 45 seconds to go in the middle frame.

Lethbridge came out flying in the third testing rookie netminder Beckett Langkow but he was equal to the task. Hurricanes Captain Dino Kambeitz would solve Langkow as he gets his 2nd of the season to bring the 'Canes to within 2. The Tigers would close the deal as Noah Danielson puts home the empty netter to put the Tigers up 6-3. Beckett Langkow stops 38 saves to earn his second win of the season.

The Tigers improve to 6-3-0-0 on the season and are back in action tomorrow night as they wrap up the three game weekend series with the Hurricanes at Co-op Place. Puck Drop is 6pm.
