Tri-City Americans News Release

KENNEWICK, WA - The Americans shutout the Spokane Chiefs last night in their first meeting of the season. Today the Ams will head to Everett looking to carry some momentum into their matchup against the Silvertips.

Tri-City's Last Game:

Saturday, March 27 vs. Spokane

Score 3-0 TC| Shots 26-25 SPO

The Americans played last night at the Toyota Center blanking the Spokane Chiefs 3-0. Eighteen-year-old netminder Talyn Boyko stopped all 26 shots faced from the Chiefs to earn his first WHL shutout.

Connor Bouchard opened scoring in the second period with an unassisted breakaway for his first goal of the season. Sam Huo added two third period goals for his first WHL multi-point game. Huo leads the Americans in scoring with three goals this season.

Rookie defenseman Carson Haynes assisted Huo's empty net goal for the first point of his career.

Tonight's Match-Up:

Tri-City (2-2-0-0) | Everett (4-0-0-0)

Tri-City and Everett have already met twice this season with Everett taking shutout victories both times.

Goaltender Dustin Wolf has been red hot in net for the Silvertips. The Calgary Flames prospect has won all four games played for Everett including three straight shutouts to start the season. He has only let in one goal, from Portland, on 106 shots faced this season.

Mason Dunsford is projected to start in net tonight for the Americans. It will be his first of the season as Boyko has started the past four games.

The Americans will look to earn their first victory against the Silvertips since Sept. 20, 2019 at Angel of the Winds Arena. Tri-City out shot Everett 30-21 in their last meeting, but has struggled to find the net. Booker Daniel is the last American to score on the Silvertips when he netted an unassisted goal in the first period on Feb. 26, 2020.
