Americans Fall 6-1 to Undefeated Silvertips

The Americans traveled to Everett today to take on the Silvertips for the third time in the past eight days. The Silvertips' dominance continued as they took a 6-1 victory over the Americans.

Recently signed Americans prospect Alex Serraglio made his WHL debut tonight with the Americans.

The six-foot-two and 195-pound left defensemen from Langley, BC served as captain of the Yale Hockey Academy U-18 Prep team for the past two years. During the 2019-20 season he played 36 games and was the highest scoring defenseman on his team with five goals and 17 assists.

Both the Americans and Silvertips let their number one goaltenders rest t0night and started their backups for the first time this season.

Mason Dunsford, a 17-year-old native of Westminster, BC, played the full game for Tri-City and stopped 30 of 36 shots faced. Braden Holt played in net for the Silvertips and turned away 20 0f 21 shots from the Americans.

The Silvertips opened scoring at 3:34 first period with a goal from Gage Goncalves. The 2001-born Tampa Bay Lightning prospect netted two more throughout the game to record his first WHL hat trick.

By the end of the first frame Everett had a dominant 3-0 lead over the Americans.

Sam Huo netted Tri-City's only goal of the night just 1:27 into the second period. The goal, Huo's fourth of the season, came off a cross-crease feed from Sasha Mutala.

The Silvertips took a final 6-1 victory over Tri-City.

The Americans players will have a few days to rest before they're back in action. They will play this Friday in Portland and Saturday at home against the Chiefs.
