After a scoreless first period, Connor Bouchard netted the first goal of the night with an unassisted breakaway, his first goal of the season. The score held at one into the first intermission. Tri-City led scoring 18-13 after 40 minutes of play.

Sam Huo scored a backdoor goal assisted by Sasha Mutala to put the Americans up by two at 4:12 second period.
