The Wichita Thunder went 3-0-0 last week, winning all three of their games on the road. The Thunder defeated the Tulsa Oilers 4-2 on Tuesday at the BOK Center. Kevin Cooper scored twice on the power play, while Paul Kelly contributed a goal and two assists. Scott Campbell saved 31 of 33 in the win. Steve Makway had two points.

Wichita headed south to Bossier City on Friday and earned a 4-2 win over the Mudbugs. The win snapped a 13-game regular season losing streak against the Bugs that dated back to December 16th, 2006. It was also the Thunder's first regular season win at the Century Tel Center since March 17th, 2006. Paul Kelly and Steve Makway each had multi-point nights for a second consecutive game, while rookie Tomas Klempa added a goal and assist. Scott Campbell picked up the win, saving 38 of 40. The win gave the Thunder back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

The Thunder won their third straight on Saturday, edging the Mississippi RiverKings 5-4 in a shootout. Again it was Campbell at the forefront, saving 39 of 43 during regulation and overtime and then going a perfect five for five in his first career shootout win. Paul Kelly scored the shootout game-winner and notched his third straight multi-point game. Kevin Cooper and Steve Makway both scored against their former club.

Campbell Has Outstanding Week

Rookie goaltender Scott Campbell had an electric week in net, leading the Thunder to three straight road wins. Campbell saved 108 of 116 shots (.931) while posting a 2.59 goals against average. The 24-year old has won four consecutive starts, all on the road, in which he has made 38 or more saves three times.

Multi-Point Kelly

Center Paul Kelly had a terrific week in his own right, scoring seven points in three games. Kelly had at least two points in all three of the Thunder's road wins, including the lone shootout goal scored in Saturday's win at Mississippi. Overall, Kelly has 11 points in his last eight games in which he is +3.

Makway On Fire

Defenseman Steve Makway had five points in three games last week and is currently riding a five-game point streak. Makway ranks third in the CHL among defensemen with 34 points and second with 27 assists. It is the third time in the last four years that Makway has scored at least 30 points in a season.

Leading the Way

During Wichita's current three-game winning streak, the Thunder has never trailed during 185 minutes of play.

Penalty Kill

The Thunder penalty kill unit continued to excel, going a perfect 12 for 12 last week. Over their last 12 games, the Thunder is 60 for 64 (93.8). Wichita has not allowed more than one power play goal in a game since December 31.

Defense Strong

Excluding empty netters, the Thunder has allowed just 37 goals in their last 15 games for a goals against average of 2.47.

Injury Report

Chris McAllister returned to the lineup Friday after being scratched three games due to a hamstring injury. Ryan Campbell remains on the 14-Day IR with a shoulder injury.

Busy Schedule

Wichita has 20 games scheduled over the next 33 days. The Thunder has games on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the next three weeks before a long four-game, seven-day road trip in early March.
