WEEK AHEAD

Thursday, February 11 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, 7:05 p.m. CST

Missouri hosts the Mudbugs in their final game of a six-game home stand looking to finish the stand with a winning record (2-2-1). Missouri is currently in sixth place in the Northern Conference with 19 games remaining on the 2009-10 schedule. Four teams, including the Mavericks and Mudbugs, are separated by just six points in the standings, and just three of the four teams will make the playoffs. The Mavericks are 2-1-0 against the Mudbugs this season including a 4-3 shootout win in the teams' only game at Independence Events Center.

Friday, February 12 - Missouri Mavericks at Wichita Thunder, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Mavericks look to stay undefeated against the Thunder on Friday night in the Mavericks first visit to Intrust Bank Arena. Missouri is currently 7-0-0 against Wichita, however the teams have not played since December 26. Missouri has outscored the Thunder 29-8 in the seven games including two shutout victories, and Wichita has failed to score more than two goals in any game. The Thunder are currently on a three-game winning streak, however the team will play against Colorado on Wednesday before taking on the Mavericks Friday night.

Saturday, February 13 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Mississippi RiverKings, 7:05 p.m. CST

Mississippi has won the last two games in the season series and five of the eight games overall. Missouri will host the RiverKings for the final three games of the season series and the Mavericks are 2-0-0 at home against Mississippi. Mavericks' forward Jeff Christian leads the team in scoring against the RiverKings with nine points on four goals and five assists in seven games. Bobby Chaumont leads the RiverKings with 10 points (4-610) in eight games played against the Mavericks.

Tuesday, February 2 - Missouri 5 vs. Colorado 4 - Shootout

Nick Sirota tallied a pair of goals and Jeff Christian had a four-point game as the Missouri Mavericks battled to a 5-4 shootout win over the Colorado Eagles Tuesday night at Independence Events Center. Mavericks' forward Simon Watson also tallied multiple points in the game with a pair of assists and Missouri won their first game over Colorado in five chances this season.

Friday, February 5 - Missouri 2 vs. Tulsa 3 - Shootout

The Tulsa Oilers overcame a two-goal third period deficit and beat the Missouri Mavericks 3-2 in a shootout Friday night at Independence Events Center. Goaltender Trevor Cann stopped 40 shots for the Oilers, and Troy Riddle and T.J. Caig each buried third period goals to move the Oilers and Mavericks into a fifth place tie in the Northern Conference. Mavericks' goaltender Gerry Festa stopped 33 of 35 shots and the Mavericks lost just their second game in a shootout this season (7-2).

Saturday, February 6 - Missouri 2 vs. Tulsa 4

The Missouri Mavericks fell to the Tulsa Oilers, 4-2, Saturday night in front of a sold out crowd of 5,800 people at Independence Events Center. Jeff Christian and Mike Burgoyne each tallied a goal and an assist for Missouri (20-21-4), but the Oilers (22-19-2) were led by Trevor Cann who stopped 37 shots in goal. Jim Henkemeyer had a goal and an assist for Tulsa and Aaron Davis notched two assists as the Oilers swept the Mavericks over the weekend. The win marked the fifth of five games in which the road team has won between the Oilers and Mavericks this season.

Notes

Fan Forum - The Mavericks have invited all season-ticket holders to join the front office on Friday, February 12 for a Fan Forum. After the Fan Forum from 6-7 p.m., the Mavericks will have a watch party for the Mavericks vs. Wichita Thunder game starting at 7:05 p.m. The game will be played on the video boards at Independence Events Center and the team store and concessions will be open.

Get Iced on the Ice - The Mavericks and Kennedy's Jewelry are giving away 10 sets of diamond earrings at the Mavericks game on Thursday night at Independence Events Center.

Blue Jersey Auction - The Mavericks will wear their blue jerseys for the final time this season on Saturday night when they host the Mississippi RiverKings. The team will host a silent auction for the blue jerseys in the Northeast corner of the concourse next to the team store. The auction will last from when the doors open until the end of the second intermission, and winners will get the jersey off the players back and a picture with the player.

Trade deadline - The CHL's trade deadline was today at 3 p.m. Missouri made one trade with the Allen Americans that sent goaltender Charlie Effinger to the Mavericks to fulfill a trade from earlier this season with Allen. Missouri also acquired Mike Harr from Rio Grande Valley this week for Andrew Davis, and the Mavericks signed forward Toby Lafrance who has a goal and assist in his first two games with Missouri.

Still streaking- Mavericks forward Jeff Christian is currently riding a five-game scoring streak in which the veteran has three goals and six assists for nine points. Christian has a point in 19 of his last 20 games played and leads the Mavericks in scoring with 59 points (24-3559).

Rib Crib Post-Game - Rib Crib will once again host a post-game party after the game Saturday night. Players will be on hand to sign autographs, and Rib Crib will have $9 buffet and great drink specials.
