Thunder Sets Up For Blade-Beating Weekend
April 6, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Stockton Thunder News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder is preparing for the final two regular season home games in anticipation of capturing the ECHL attendance crown in its inaugural season of play, lining up numerous fan-friendly activities for the weekend as part of its "Beat The 'Blades" campaign.
The Thunder, needing to average 6,905 fans for the last two games to pull in the attendance crown, will feature game-related giveaways and its first team awards ceremony in attempts to capture the ECHL attendance crown and knock off the five-time defending attendance king Florida Everblades for the first time since the 1999-00 season.
Friday's 7:30 p.m. PT game against the Bakersfield Condors at Stockton Arena is headlined by a return of the antics from "Crazy Fan" Cameron Hughes, who returns for his third appearance at Stockton Arena. The game is also highlighted by "Group Appreciation Night," where all groups who previously attended a Thunder game receive $5 admission for upper premium or lower end-zone seats.
Saturday's 7:30 p.m. PT home game against the San Diego Gulls, the Thunder's final game of the 2005-06 season, is the final chance for the Thunder to capture the attendance crown. Stockton will conclude its goaltender mask raffle, with entry tickets on-sale to all fans in attendance for Friday's game, with a lucky winner to be presented Thunder goaltender Jake Moreland's game-worn mask for the 2005-06 season during Saturday's game.
In addition to the game featuring a Youth Cap night giveaway (presented by The Record, Bank of Agriculture & Commerce and KWIN-FM), free to the first 2,000 fans ages 12 and under in attendance, the Thunder will hold its inaugural post-season team awards presentation at center ice.
Thunder season tickets, individual tickets, and mini packages are on-sale now. Individual tickets can be purchased in person at Stockton Arena's Ticket Office, online at www.stocktontickets.com, or by phone at (209) 373-1700. For more information about tickets, merchandise, or other inquiries contact the Stockton Thunder offices at (209) 373-1500 or visit www.stocktonthunder.com.
