Toledo's MacIntyre RBC Financial Group ECHL Saver Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Drew MacIntyre of the Toledo Storm is the RBC
Financial Group ECHL Saver of the Month for March.
The 22 year-old was 8-2-0 with a 1.73 goals-against average and a .937 save
percentage to help the Storm go 12-4-0 during March, improving to 43-21-5
and clinching a berth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the second straight
year and 12th time in team history.
The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound MacIntyre began the month with a 3-1 victory
over Trenton on Mar. 1 and had an 8-2 win over the Titans on Mar. 3 and won
four consecutive games against the defending Kelly Cup champions from Mar.
11-17.
Selected in the fourth round (121st overall) by Detroit in the 2001 NHL
Entry Draft and under contact to the Red Wings, MacIntyre is 21-7-2 and is
first in the league with a goals-against average of 2.10 and he is third
with a .925 save percentage. He has also appeared in 13 games with Grand
Rapids of the American Hockey League, going 8-3-0 with a 2.53 goals-against
average and a .908 save percentage in 2005-06.
MacIntyre was 6-4-0 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .919 save
percentage in 11 games for Toledo in 2003-04. He was 0-1-0 with a 4.10
goals-against average in two games for the Storm in 2004-05 while also
playing in the AHL with Grand Rapids where he was 7-8-0 with a
goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .902.
A native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, MacIntyre played four
seasons for Sherbrooke in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he
was 73-87-13 with a 3.30 goals-against average and a save percentage of.
900 in 188 career games.
Runners Up: Steve Silverthorn, Idaho (7-2-0, 2.00 GAA, .927 save
pct.), and Andy Franck, Wheeling (8-2-2, 2.13 GAA, .924 save pct).
