Alex Kim recorded a goal and an assist, and defenseman Grady Moore chipped in with two helpers for San Diego, which extended its home winning streak to five games and moved four games over .500 for the first time this season. The Roadrunners continued their struggles, losing their 10th straight match and 16th in their last 17 games overall. Phoenix actually drew first blood, at the 10:30 mark of the second period, but the Gulls came back to tie it before the second intermission - on a short-handed score by Steve Hildenbrand. Rob Flynn and Kim gave San Diego some breathing room with goals in the third period to round out the scoring.
GULLS UPDATE: San Diego (34-28-8) enters the day with 76 points. By way of their shootout loss Wednesday against Idaho, the Gulls clinched fourth place in the Pacific and will battle first-place Fresno in the opening round of the ECHL playoffs beginning Tuesday. But the forward saw his career-high 16-game point streak and six-game assist streak both come to an end. He still has scored 38 points (16g, 22a) in just 23 games overall for San Diego... Michael Mole is unbeaten in his last three starts, stopping 103 of 109 shots (.945 save percentage)...

The Roadrunners are 9-23-2 on the road this season, including a 1-2-0 mark in San Diego... They are also winless in their past 15 road games (0-13-2)...
