
Thunder Make Several Moves Prior to Home Opener

Wichita, KS (Oct. 17th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced today several moves prior to the team's home opener against the Quad City Mallards. Andy Huff has been activated from reserve and is expected to be in the line-up tonight. The team also claimed forward Peter Sakaris off waivers and placed him on reserve while releasing forward Cullen Bradshaw.
Sakaris, 23, started the preseason with the Cincinnati Cyclones before being placed on waivers. A native of Candiac, Quebec, the 5-foot-10, 167-pound forward spent the last three seasons
with the Evansville IceMen. After completing a three-year junior career with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, he appeared in three contests for Evansville during the 2012-13 season. In 103 career games, Sakaris has 44 points (20g, 24a) to go along with 117 penalty minutes as a pro.
Opening Night is tonight against the Quad City Mallards! Join us for our Opening Night Block Party, brought to you by Toyota. Starting at 4 p.m., fans can congregate in front of Entrance A and B with all kinds of family fun activities.
