Texas Stars Release Joey Martin From PTO

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that left wing Joey Martin has been released from his professional tryout contract and returned to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.

Martin, 24, made his Texas Stars debut on January 16th at Chicago and appeared in four AHL games for the Stars, registering no points and a -1 rating. The Thorold, Ontario native returns to Toledo where he has 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) and 13 penalty minutes in 29 ECHL games this season.

Texas will complete its six-game road trip on Friday, January 25th with a 7:30 p.m. faceoff against the San Antonio Rampage at AT&T Center. The Stars return home on Saturday, January 26th to square off with the San Antonio Rampage at 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Park Center.
