Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY, Pa. - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that goaltender Brandon Anderson and defenseman Brett Flemming have been reassigned from the ECHL's Reading Royals. The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Anderson, 21, comes to HERSHEY after making eight appearances in front of the Royals net. He has posted a record of 5-3-0, a goals-against average of 3.22 and save percentage of .878.
The 6-1, 184-pound native of Langley, BC joined the BEARS late in the 2011-12 regular season but did not see any game action. He finished the final season of his WHL junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings, after starting 2011-12 and spending the three previous years with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In 138 career games in the WHL, Anderson has a record of 44-62-17.
Flemming, 21, has accumulated 11 points (two goals, nine assists), 64 penalty minutes and a plus-three rating in 38 games on the Reading blue line. He rejoins the BEARS with three games and a plus-one rating to his credit this season.
The 5-11, 184-pound native of Regina, SK played in 147 games in his junior career with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors (OHL) prior to turning pro, totaling 105 points (nine goals, 96 assists) and 288 penalty minutes. His plus-60 efficiency rating in 2009-10 set a Majors franchise record and led the OHL, the same season in which he helped Mississauga to a berth in the Memorial Cup finals.
Flemming was originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round (145th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The BEARS will host the St. John's IceCaps on Friday, January 25 at 7:00 PM. Tickets for this game and all remaining HERSHEY BEARS home games are available for purchase at the GIANT Center box office, by calling (717) 508-BEAR, or online at TicketMaster.com.
