San Antonio Rampage News Release

THIS WEEK'S GAMES

Friday, Jan. 25 vs Texas Stars

AT&T Center, 7:30 p.m.

The Rampage will square off against the hottest team in the Western Conference, the Texas Stars, this weekend in a home-and-home series. Texas has won 10 of their last 12 games and has outscored opponents, 47-29 in that span and have scored six or more goals in their last three games. The Stars hot streak has helped them catapult into a tie for first place in the Western Conference, and the league, with the Charlotte Checkers. The Stars own an impressive 14-6-1-1 record on the road and sport the league's best road power play, operating at 25.9% (21-for-81). Texas is also a perfect 18-0-0-0 when leading after two periods of play.

Saturday, Jan. 26 at Texas Stars

Cedar Park Center, 7:00 p.m.

The Rampage are winless against the Stars this season (0-5-0-0) and have only scored a combined five goals in the five contests. Rampage rookie Drew Shore has tallied four of the five goals against the Stars. Matt Fraser has been a thorn in the side of the Rampage this season, tallying four goals and one assist in five games. In his career, Fraser has recorded 14 goals in 17 career games against the Rampage. San Anto- nio may be able to avoid Stars netminder Cristopher Nilstorp, who owns a 4-0-0 record and a 0.86 goals against average against the Rampage this season. Nilstorp made the Dallas Stars out of training camp.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT

ALL STAR: Rookie forward Drew Shore was named to the Western Conference All-Star team for the American Hockey League's All-Star Classic set to be played on Jan. 28 in Providence. Shore leads the AHL in assists (20) among active rookies and is second place on the Rampage with 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists).

CALL-UPS: Rampage defensemen Michael Caruso and Tyson Strachan made the Florida Panthers roster out of training camp. Both played in the season opener for the Panthers, with the game marking Caruso's NHL debut. Drew Shore was also called up to the Pan- thers on Monday and will make his NHL debut if he sees game action.

VERY POSITIVE: Rookie defenseman Alex Petrovic recorded an impressive plus-4 rating in Friday's 4-2 win over Oklahoma City. The plus-4 rating was a season high for an individ- ual player. Petrovic now leads the team with a plus-9 rating on the season.

FRESH FACE: The Rampage signed Nolan Julseth-White to a PTO on Thursday. The d- man posted two goals and 14 assists in 37 games for the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers.

ICE CHIPS: Jacob Markstrom-Goaltender

Rampage netminder Jacob Markstrom stopped 80-of-84 shots in the two games at Oklahoma City last weekend, earning a 1-1-0 record for his efforts. On Friday, the 6-foot-6, 195-pound goaltender stopped 46-of-48 shots to backstop the Rampage to a 4-2 victory over the Barons. Markstrom also earned First Star of the Game honors for his performance in the first-leg of the weekend set. On Saturday, Markstrom again only surrendered two goals, as the Rampage fell, 2-1. The Swedish netminder has allowed two or fewer goals in six of his last seven starts. Markstrom was also invited to the Florida Panthers training camp last week.
