Texas Stars News Release
CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, will be hosting their 3rd Annual H-E-B Food Drive Night to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas on December 18th at Cedar Park Center.
The Stars' H-E-B Food Drive will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the East Lobby of Cedar Park Center and will run until the opening puck drop at 7:30 p.m. as the team hosts their in-state rival San Antonio Rampage. Fans who donate eight or more non-perishable food items will receive a voucher for a free ticket to Wednesday's game and the fan who makes the single largest food donation will win a Texas Stars suite night. Every fan who donates will be entered to win prizes, including autographed Stars memorabilia and gift cards. In addition, 101X will be holding a live radio remote from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday to promote the event. Once the arena doors open to fans at 6:30 p.m., food will be collected at each of the three Cedar Park Center entrances until game time.
Since its inception during the 2011-12 season, the Texas Stars Annual H-E-B Food Drive has brought in over 3,000 items weighing over 3,300 lbs., the equivalent of more than 2,500 meals donated to the Capital Area Food Bank. Although Wednesday's game is the official H-E-B Food Drive Night, the Stars also collect food throughout the season on H-E-B Nights. H-E-B Nights occur every weekday game of the season (Monday-Thursday) and fans can bring any H-E-B brand non-perishable food item to the Cedar Park Center Box Office to save $5 off their next ticket.
The Stars will host the San Antonio Rampage on Wednesday, December 18th at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center, carrying a five-game winning streak and six-game home point streak (5-0-0-1) into the contest. Wednesday's game is the 3rd Annual H-E-B Food Drive Night and another Winning Wednesday. Pro-rated full and partial 2013-14 Texas Stars Season Tickets are on sale now.
