Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO - The Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club and Global Spectrum, facility manager of Copps Coliseum, have announced that installation of a state-of-the-art LED 360 Power Ring will begin today at Copps Coliseum. The installation is scheduled to be completed for public reveal at the Bulldogs game versus the Abbotsford Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) on Sunday, December 22nd at 3:00 p.m.
"It's very important to us that we give our guests the best fan experience possible," said Global Spectrum's Scott Warren, General Manager of Copps Coliseum. "In addition to the other upgrades we've made to Copps Coliseum, the LED ribbon allows us to deliver a world-class game day experience to Hamilton Bulldogs fans. I can't wait to share in the excitement with the fans!"
The new LED 360 Power Ring will enhance the fan experience, as well as encourage fan interaction within the game. The Power Ring upgrades the facility to world-class standards. The 360-degree digital signage measures about 876 feet in circumference and is approximately two feet high.
"The Bulldogs are excited to continue to work with Global Spectrum in providing the highest quality of in-arena entertainment for our loyal fan base," said Hamilton Bulldogs President Stephen Ostaszewicz. "The LED ribbon will add a major-league feel to our in-game production and provides us with new opportunities for activating our brand and that of our corporate partners through new and innovative elements."
The Power Ring was obtained from and installed by Daktronics, an industry leader in designing and manufacturing electronic scoreboards. With tens of thousands of systems installed around the world, Daktronics is recognized as the leading designer and manufacturer of LED message displays worldwide.
"The City of Hamilton is thankful that Global Spectrum, in partnership with the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club, are contributing such an exciting addition to Copps Coliseum," said City Councillor Jason Farr. "This opportunity had presented itself in the past, but would have not become a reality without Global Spectrum's initiative and their continued dedication toward the improvement of our facilities."
Hamilton's next game is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18th, when they will travel to Chicago, Illinois to take on the Chicago Wolves (AHL Affiliate of the St. Louis Blues) at 12:00 p.m. The 'Dogs return to Copps Coliseum on Sunday, December 22nd, when they will host the Abbotsford Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) at 3:00 p.m.
