
Blue Jackets Reassign Austin Madaisky to Springfield

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Monday that the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate, has reassigned defenseman Austin Madaisky to Springfield from the Evansville IceMen. In conjunction, Columbus also reassigned defenseman Thomas Larkin from Springfield to Evansville.
Madaisky, who was reassigned to Evansville December 10, returns to the club after playing three games with the IceMen. The Surrey, British Columbia native did not record a point and finished with a -5 rating. Madaisky has totaled three points (one goal, two assists) in eight games with the Falcons this season.
Larkin rejoined the Falcons December 10 after participating in training camp and the preseason with the club, but did not see any action. The 6-foot-5, 221-pound defenseman has suited up in 19 games for the IceMen in 2013-14, totaling nine points (zero goals, nine assists), 37 penalty minutes and a +6 rating. The Colgate University product played seven games with Springfield at the end of the 2012-13 campaign, scoring one goal with two penalty minutes and a -3 rating.
The Falcons are back in action Friday, December 20 when they hit the road to take on the Providence Bruins at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The team finishes its current six-game road trip Saturday, December 21 against the Hartford Wolf Pack, returning to the MassMutual Center Thursday, December 26 to host the Adirondack Phantoms.
Fans are invited to the MassMutual Center in 2013-14 to watch the reigning Northeast Division-champion Falcons compete in their 20th anniversary season.
