Bridgeport Islanders News Release

It's time to get into the giving holiday mood and join the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in their annual Teddy Bear Toss. This seasonal event puts smiles on the faces of area children who are battling cancer. Come to the Arena at Harbor Yard for the game on Sunday, Dec. 17, against the Norfolk Admirals at 4 p.m., enjoy a great game, and make a child's day.

Fans are asked to bring teddy bears or other stuffed animals to the game, and toss them onto the ice after the first Sound Tiger goal is scored.

Throughout the years, this annual event has resulted in tens of thousands of stuffed animals being tossed to the ice, eventually making their way into the arms of appreciative children. It's a Sound Tiger holiday tradition that brings fans and the community together.

Additionally, the Sound Tigers and our corporate sponsors will donate tickets to children who are well-enough to attend the game.

Sound Tigers' players and staff, joined by AMR, will deliver the stuffed animals to children at Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent's Medical Center, Norwalk Hospital, Stamford Hospital and Yale-New Haven Hospital on Monday, Dec. 18.

For schedule and ticket information for all Sound Tigers games, including group discount opportunities, visit soundtigers.com or call 334-4625.
