Norfolk Admirals News Release
NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals are pleased to announce that their First Annual Admirals Alumni Night will take place on Saturday, February 10.
This season's Alumni Night will feature Hampton Roads Admirals stars from the early to mid 1990's. The night will consist of an alumni game and meet-and-greet session. Team Blue will take on Team White a few hours before the current Norfolk Admirals face off against the Portland Pirates. The alumni will don the original Hampton Roads Admirals blue and gold jerseys consisting of an anchor surrounded by five stars.
Following the game, the alumni will have a meet-and-greet session with fans complete with photos, autographs and more.
"We have a tremendous history of hockey here in Hampton Roads," said Admirals Vice President and former Hampton Roads Admirals goaltender Mark Bernard. "It's time that we start getting the alumni back involved. It's going to be a great night, and I think that our fans are really going to enjoy it."
The Admirals Alumni Night experience is included in a ticket to the Admirals game versus the Portland Pirates later that evening. More details about the alumni game and meet-and-greet session will be released as the event approaches.
Over 20 players have already committed to playing the alumni game, including forwards Victor Gervais, Dennis McEwen, Dave Morissette, Billy Nolan, Randy Pearce, Kelly Sorensen and Rod Taylor. The Admirals will release names of additional participants every week leading up to the Alumni Night.
"I'm looking forward to seeing players that were instrumental in building the foundation of success that we have had for the last seventeen years in Norfolk," said Admirals General Manager and former Hampton Roads Admirals defenseman, assistant coach and assistant general manager Al MacIsaac. "It's a great opportunity for fans to say 'hi' to some of the players they cheered for and supported many years ago.
The Admirals Alumni Night would not be possible without the support of several sponsors. The Admirals would like to thank Action First Aid & Safety, Inc., CI Travel, Contract Carpet, Dennis Ankeney State Farm Insurance, Jani-King, and United Rentals for their roles in making the Admirals Alumni Night possible.
The Norfolk Admirals will head to Binghamton to start the second half of their six-game road trip on Friday. They play the Senators at 7:05 p.m., and then visit Springfield at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday and Bridgeport at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Individual game tickets for all Admirals regular season games range from $11-$16 and are on sale at all TicketMaster outlets, charge-by-phone at (757) 671-8100 or at ticketmaster.com. Season tickets, ten-packs and group tickets remain on sale through the Admirals' office and through the Admirals' website.
