SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that they have recalled defenseman Alexandre Rouleau from their ECHL affiliate, Phoenix RoadRunners, as a result of the Phoenix Coyotes recalling Matt Jones from San Antonio.

Rouleau, 23, signed an AHL Standard Player Contract in September when he attended Rampage training camp. He currently ranks fourth in the ECHL among defensemen in scoring with 20 points. In 22 games with the RoadRunners, he ranks second on the team in scoring with four goals and 16 assists.

The Mont-Laurier, Quebec native was the Pittsburgh Penguins' fourth choice in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Jones, 23, has registered one assist and 21 penalty minutes (PIM) in 16 games with San Antonio this season, while also tallying a goal, two assists and four PIM's in 10 games with the Coyotes during his first call up to Phoenix. The 6-foot, 215-pound defenseman scored his first career NHL goal versus the New York Rangers on Oct. 28.

The Downers Grove, Illinois native played 16 games with the Coyotes in his first professional campaign last season, recording two assists. The Coyotes' third-round selection (80th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft has recorded five points (one goal, four assists) in 26 games so far in his NHL career.

In addition, the Phoenix Coyotes have reassigned right wing Lance Monych to the RoadRunners. The 22-year-old appeared played in two games with the Rampage last week and recorded zero points.
