Hrudey and Butt Headline 2007 Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation Gala Dinner

The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation is pleased to announce Hockey Night in Canada analyst Kelly Hrudey will be the keynote speaker at the 2007 Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation Gala Dinner to be held at ice level of the MTS Centre on Wednesday, Febuary 28th at 6:00 p.m. The Yearling Foundation is also pleased to welcome comedian Brent Butt from CTV's "Corner Gas" as part of the entertainment for the evening.

This year, the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation offers each of its guests the chance to be an "ultimate player" down at ice level, complete with the opporuntuity to meet Head Coach Scott Arniel and members of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club. Guests will also have a chance to tour of the Manitoba Moose dressing room and participate in a silent auction showcasing one-of-a-kind autographed items from American Hockey League and National Hockey League players, as well as various MTS Centre artists.

Hrudey was a former NHL goaltender with the New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks from1983 to 1998. After retiring, he moved into the broadcast booth as an anaylst with Hockey Night in Canada, providing commentary alongside host Ron MacLean. In 1999, Hrudey created his intermission feature "Behind the Mask" which has become a regular feature on Hockey Night in Canada. In 2000, Hrudey became a regular part of HNIC's After Hours which has a strong interactive component with the country's hockey fans.

Butt is the creator, star, and executive producer of one of Canada's top television hits, the comedy series "Corner Gas". The show draws over a million viewers every week and garners rave reviews from critics across the country. Butt was named "Best Male Standup" at the Canadian Comedy Awards as legions of fans have come to love his coffee shop humour - relaxed, converational, and gentle - but very, very funny. Butt was also host of the 2005 Juno Awards when they were in Winnipeg at the MTS Centre.

The Yearling Foundation is also pleased to welcome Hockey Night in Canada broadcaster and Winnipeg native Scott Oake as the Master of Ceremonies.

The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation is the official charity of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club. The Yearling Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises money year round and donates this money to a variety of registered children's charities in Manitoba. Since its inception in 1996, the Yearling Foundation has raised and dispersed over 1.6 million dollars.
