
Rookie Goaltender Schwarz Returns from the Blues

Peoria, IL (December 14, 2006) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that goaltender Marek Schwarz has been assigned to the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate.
Schwarz, 20, made his NHL debut, on December 12 against the Chicago Blackhawks, becoming the third youngest goaltender in Blues history to play in a game. He stopped 21 of 24 shots in a 3-2 loss.
He has appeared in 12 games with the Rivermen this season, posting a 9-2-0 record and .912 save percentage.
The Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic native was originally drafted as the Blues first round selection, 17th overall in the 2004 Entry Draft.
On Friday, December 15, the Rivermen face off against the Iowa Stars at 7:30 p.m. It is a Coca-cola/Insight Date Night. Fans receive two (2) Upper Bowl center tickets and a tub of popcorn for just $25. Hardee's Restaurants presents WWE Diva Torrie Wilson, who will appear & sign autographs. It is Toys for Tots Night, as the U.S. Marine Corps encourages all fans to bring a new toy to donate and receive a voucher to an upcoming game. Santa Claus will also appear. On Saturday, December 16, the Rivermen battle the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:00 p.m. It is Rivermen/Illinois Pork Producers Stress Pig Night for the first 2,500 fans. The Bucket Boys - the NBA's No. 1 entertainment act - will appear and perform in the first intermission. The U.S. Cellular 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time Card Set Giveaway continues with a David Bruce card to the first 2,500 fans. On Sunday, December 17, Peoria hosts the Iowa Stars at 4:00 p.m. It is an Insight Family Day. Families receive four (4) tickets, four (4) hot dogs, four (4) Cokes and four (4) bags of Kitchen Cooked chips for just $38 ($70 value). There will also be a post-game skate (bring your skates), and players will be Christmas caroling and providing their personal Christian testimony. The U.S. Cellular 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time Card Set Giveaway continues with a Rick Pion card to the first 2,500 fans.
