Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
Modern Woodmen Park's newest attraction is a brand new Jumer's Casino Rock Island Hot Tub Deck located at the back end of the Party Plaza down the right field line, and one lucky school teacher from Muscatine has won the opportunity for her and two dozen of her friends and colleagues to become the first patrons to take advantage of the exciting new area.
"This new addition to Modern Woodmen Park is one of a number of upgrades that we have been planning, and we couldn't be more excited about the unveiling," said team owner Dave Heller. "The new Tiki Bar, new concessions stands, Corn Field, and everything else are all going to really improve the fan experience, but that the Hot Tub Deck is going to be a heck of a lot of fun. It's going to become a ballpark icon very quickly."
Cynthia Savage, a special education teacher for the Muscatine School District, had her name picked by the River Bandits over a slew of other entries in a contest to give away the first-ever Hot Tub Deck outing at Modern Woodmen Park.
"The end of school is just around the corner and we are ready for all things summer, including an awesome River Bandits game," said Savage with enthusiasm upon hearing the good news. "We are all so excited for school to be out and being at this game is the best way to celebrate! Thank-you so much and go River Bandits!"
The deck was finalized this past week, and to celebrate, the River Bandits are giving away use of the brand new area for all four home games this week against Ryne Sandberg and the Peoria Chiefs. Savage and her hard-working coworkers at the Muscatine School District will unwind from a long school year and celebrate their pending summer vacation on the Hot Tub Deck Monday night, while the opportunity to enjoy the deck on Tuesday will be given away by Dwyer & Michaels on 97X. Wednesday night's outing will be a prize package on WLLR with Justice & Howe, while Dave & Darren will hand out the tickets for Thursday night's homestand finale on Rock 104.9.
Following next week's set of games, the Hot Tub Deck will be available to be rented out for groups of 10-25 people starting on Wednesday, May 28, with the River Bandits end of month homestand at Modern Woodmen Park. A Hot Tub Deck outing comes complete with wait-service and food provided by an adjoining barbeque pit, priced at just $29 per person. Fans have already begun snatching up these outings, which are sure to be a hot commodity for years to come.
"I think that in many ways the new Hot Tub Deck is symbolic of the new era of Quad Cities baseball," said Vice President/General Manager Kirk Goodman. "There is a new mentality at Modern Woodmen Park and a new way of doing things that puts the fans first. We really care about making their experience as incredible as possible, and this fantastic new group area is emblematic of that."
UP NEXT: The River Bandits will play game six of a seven-game commuter trip in Burlington on Saturday. Quad Cities will return to Davenport to welcome in Ryne Sandberg and the Peoria Chiefs on Monday, May 19, for Make-a-Wish Night and Indiana Jones Night. The series will continue with a Two-for-Tuesday and then an autographed baseball giveaway on Wednesday before Bad Fad Night hits the Quad Cities on a Thirst-day Thursday. Merchandise featuring the new team name and logo is currently available by visiting the Modern Woodmen Park team store, and season ticket packages, mini-packages, and the popular You-Pick-10 Plan are on sale at the park or by calling (563) 3-BANDITS!
