Rome, GA - The Rome Braves swept the Asheville Tourists 8-7 and 6-4 on Thursday night before 2,259 fans at State Mutual Stadium. Rome snaps their eight game losing skid and begins a two game winning streak all in the same night.

In game one, Rome fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but tied the game in the second on a two run single by Jakob Dalfonso. The Tourists grabbed the lead again in the third with four runs highlighted by a two run single by Kyle Parker. Rome bounced back with four runs of their own in the fifth on a bases load walk by Kyle Rose, a sacrifice fly by Christian Bethancourt, a wild pitch to score a run, and an RBI single by Robert Hefflinger for the 6-6 score. Asheville regained the lead 7-6 in the sixth on an RBI single by Rafael Ortega but the Braves pushed two runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth on Rose's run scoring single and and throwing error to allow the eighth run the score. Kyle Mertins (1-1) gets the win while Bradley McAfee is the loser for Asheville.

The Braves started where they left off with two runs in the first inning of game two thanks to an RBI groundout by Dalfonso and a wild pitch for the second run. Rome scored two runs in each of the next two innings to get an early 6-0 advantage after three. Asheville plated four runs in the fourth to close to within two highlighted by a two RBI triple by Russell Wilson making the score 6-4. Rome starter Carlos Perez combined with strong bullpen help from Chasen Shreve held the Tourists the rest of the way for the win. Perez (2-2) earns the win and Josh Hungerman (0-2) the loss. Shreve (2) gets the save.
