Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, announced today that the Super Secret Project (SSP) will return to the Verizon Wireless Arena for a special intermission performance of their latest hit, Granite State Of Mind 2: Plow Guy Boogaloo, when the team hosts the Adirondack Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. on Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, April 8.
The SSP garnered national recognition for their YouTube hit, Granite State Of Mind, and performed it in front of thousands of fans at the Monarchs playoff game on Saturday, May 1, 2010. In February, SSP released their newest music video, Granite State Of Mind 2: Plow Guy Boogaloo, which features cameos by WMUR's Fritz Wetherbee, comedian Sarah Silverman, actor Mike O'Malley, comedian Juston McKinney, filmmaker Ken Burns, New Hampshire Governor John Lynch and NBA player Matt Bonner. The Monarchs are also represented in the video as the artists wear specialty jerseys when they mention the team. Monarchs fans recently voted on the team's website to bring back SSP for a special performance during Fan Appreciation Night.
"We are thrilled to have Super Secret Project perform during Fan Appreciation Night next week," said Monarchs President Darren Abbott. "They are bringing national recognition to our state in a fun and creative way. We are happy to celebrate and thank our fans with a special performance by members of Monarchs Country."
In addition to the SSP's performance on Friday, April 8, the Monarchs will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night with giveaways all night long. The first 3,000 fans will receive an aluminum water bottle, courtesy of Pepsi, and the winners of the Shirt Off Our Back raffle will be awarded their jerseys directly from the players following the game.
SSP is also scheduled to perform live at The Music Hall Loft on Friday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., along with an encore performance on Saturday, April 30 at 7:00 p.m.
The Monarchs return to action on Friday, April 1 with a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Worcester Sharks at the DCU Center. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGAM 900/1250 AM and at www.manchestermonarchs.com.
