
Bulldogs Spook Monsters With 4-1 Win

Cleveland, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Lake Erie Monsters 4-1 on Friday night. The win extends the âDogs winning streak to four games and point streak to six games while the team moves into second place in the North Division.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 14:19 of the first frame. Jimmy Bonneau gave the puck to Dany Masse, who fired a shot on net that was stopped by Lake Erie starting goaltender John Grahame. Masse grabbed his own rebound and backhanded a shot past Grahame.
The âDogs took a 2-0 lead at 5:51 of the second stanza. Alexander Avtsin sent the puck to the left point, where Brendon Nash was positioned. Nash fired a shot towards the net that deflected off of Olivier Fortier before bouncing past Grahame and into the net.
The Monsters got on the scoreboard at 15:25 of the middle frame. David Van der Gulik sent the puck to Ben Walter, who carried it into the Bulldogs zone. Walter skated past a âDogs defender before stuffing the puck past Hamilton starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre and into the net.
Dustin Boyd gave Hamilton a 3-1 lead while on the power play at 3:49 of the final frame. Aaron Palushaj sent a pass to Boyd, who fed a pass across the ice to Nigel Dawes. Dawes snapped a shot on net that was stopped by Grahame. The rebound came back to Boyd, who batted the puck past the goaltender and into the net. The goal extended the point streaks for Boyd, Dawes and Palushaj to four games. J.T. Wyman added an empty net marker at 19:19 to seal the win for Hamilton.
The Bulldogs will return to Copps Coliseum for their final regular season home game of the 2010-2011 season when they the Manitoba Moose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
