Sound Tigers Release Svendsen, Sign O'Neil to ATO

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Apr. 1, 2011) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced Friday they have released forward Brandon Svendsen from his professional tryout contract (PTO) and signed forward Alex O'Neil to an amateur tryout contact (ATO).

Svendsen appeared in 61 games with the Sound Tigers this season, totaling 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) and 41 penalty minutes. The Maplewood, Minn. native returns to ECHL affiliate Kalamazoo where he shows six goals and seven assists in nine games with the K-Wings. O'Neil signs with the Sound Tigers after completing the 2010-11 campaign with the Bramption Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League, where the 6'0", 205-pound forward notched seven points (four goals, three assists) and 115 penalty minutes in 62 games.
