Stroman to Start Bisons Season Finale

September 4, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

Toronto Blue Jays righty Marcus Stroman is scheduled to start for the Bisons in the team's final game of the 2015 season as part of his MLB injury rehabilitation. Stroman will get the ball on Monday, September 7 against the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium in Rhode Island (1:05 p.m.).

Catch the action beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the official radio home of Bisons baseball, ESPN 1520 AM. You can also watch the game on MiLB.tv.

Stroman, who tore the ACL in his left knee early in spring training, was impressive in his first rehab outing on Wednesday night for Single-A Lansing. In 4.2 hitless innings of work, the righty struck out seven and walked just one for the Lugnuts.

It was initially thought that Stroman's 2015 season ended with the injury and subsequent surgery during the spring. Doctors gave Stroman clearance to throw from a mound in August and the 24-year old has made great progress ever since.

Stroman made seven starts for the Bisons in 2014, going 2-4 with a 3.03 ERA and 45 strikeouts in only 35.2 innings of work. In May, he splashed onto the big league scene, going 11-6 with a 3.65 ERA in 26 games and 20 starts for the Blue Jays. His 11 wins were the most for a Blue Jays rookie since 2009 and 5th-most in the franchise's history.
