TOLEDO, Oh - After a two hour rain delay, the Louisville Bats (63-77) and Toledo Mud Hens (59-81) continued to play until the Mud Hens had a dramatic win with a solo shot to sweep the Bats, 4-3.

The Bats came out swinging in their final game with the Mud Hens starting in the third inning with an RBI single from Irving Falu to score Josciel Veras. A couple more runs came in the top of the fourth with an RBI triple from Veras and an RBI double from Chad Tromp to put the Bats up 3-0.

After a two hour and 11 minute rain delay in Toledo, right-hander Donovan Hand replaced righty Josh Smith on the mound. Smith went four innings, he gave up three hits, one earned run, walked three and struck out six before the delay.

Just after the delay, Mud Hens resumed the bottom of the fifth with a runner on first base that eventually scored along with two more runs to tie up the ballgame 3-3.

Right-hander Thad Weber did not return after the rain delay either, his final line was five innings, seven hits, three earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts.

A pitching change in the bottom of the ninth with two outs did not work out in the Bats favor, Jose De La Torre (L, 6-6, 3.23) threw one pitch to Manny Pina who walked off with a solo home to win 4-3 for the Mud Hens.

Lefty Joe Mantiply (W, 2-0, 1.17) earned the win for the Mud Hens after pitching two shutout innings in the eighth and ninth.

Tomorrow the Bats are back in Louisville for the final homestand of the regular season. They will start the two game series with Columbus at 7:05 p.m. Friday night. On the mound for the Bats will be lefty Brandon Finnegan (0-2, 5.88) and for the Clippers will be lefty Ryan Merritt (1-0, 4.50).
